Review: Green People Nurture Body Lotion

Whatever the weather, I need a good natural and organic body lotion to moisturise my skin and keep it happy and healthy so I was pleased when Green People sent me their Nurture Body Lotion to try.

About Green People

Green People are a UK company offering a range of over 150 natural and organic skincare and body products for all the family.

Green credentials

In my opinion, Green People are one of the best UK natural and organic beauty and skincare brands. They only use ingredients that are pure, safe and kind to your skin. Their products don't contain:

SLS, SLES, methylisothiazolinone (MI), methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI), parabens, lanolin, phthalates, propylene glycol, alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol), harsh foaming agents, irritating emulsifiers, synthetic fragrance, PABA-sunscreen, gluten, colourants, petrochemicals, urea, DEA, TEA or PEGs.

Be a Shade Greener verdict on Green People Nurture Body Lotion

It's great to see that Nurture Body Lotion contains 91.6% organic ingredients and many of the ingredients are fairly traded.

It has a rich creamy texture but is not at all greasy or sticky. A little goes a long way and I find it easy to massage into the skin. Immediately it feels like my skin is being properly nourished due to the cream being rich in Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids from the perilla, evening primrose oil and shea butter.

The first time I used it was after a shower in the evening. In the morning, my skin still felt as soft and moisturised as when I applied the cream the previous night. It's a wonderful treat and feels like your wrapping your body in a nourishing and protective cocoon. My skin looks and feels better and it's even improved the annoying bumps on the backs of my upper arms.

Green People say this is suitable for those who may be prone to eczema and psoriasis. People with eczema and sensitive skin have found the product to be soothing as you can see in the reviews on the Green People website.

Although called a body lotion, it can be used as a hand cream too so is a great 2-in-1 product.

If you're looking for a quality organic body lotion, I recommend that you try Nurture Body Lotion because it has such a long-lasting effect. I've never used a body cream that has felt so good 12 hours later! Even 24 hours later my skin knows it's been given an intense hit of moisture. It really feels like you're getting your money's worth. I will definitely be spending some of my hard-earned cash to replace this when I run out.

Fragrance

It has a light floral, citrus scent due to some of my favourite essential oils including bergamot and rose geranium. The fragrance lingers but is not overpowering so you should be able to use it under your usual perfume. I think the fragrance is suitable for all the family but scent is a very personal thing so you might want to check it out first before buying 5 bottles for your boyfriend!

Directions – how to use

Green People suggest that after bathing or showering you towel dry yourself and then massage the lotion into your skin using gentle, circular movements.

You can also massage Nurture Body Lotion into your hands, including cuticles as and when required.
