Review: Weleda Skin Food skin repair cream for dry, damaged skin

Weleda Skin Food is a cult natural beauty product for dry, damaged skin in need of repair and nourishment. Weleda have used the same recipe since 1926 for this award-winning product which is one of their most popular creations.

Weleda Skin Food

Their products contain:

  • No synthetic preservatives
  • No synthetic fragrances
  • No synthetic chemicals
  • No synthetic anything

Fragrance

It has a lovely citrus fragrance from which comes from essential oils which include sweet orange and lavandulae.

How to use

This is a very rich cream so you only need to apply sparingly as a little goes a long way. I've not used it on my face but it's suggested that you gently pat it onto your face so you don't drag your skin. Otherwise gently massage it into your body. As it is a thick cream which takes a while to be absorbed, I like to use it when relaxing in the evening. If using it on my hands or feet, I supercharge the nourishing effect by wearing gloves or socks once I've applied the cream.

Verdict

Weleda Skin Food is my first aid product when I've neglected my skin and it's in dire need of some moisture. It a great multi-purpose product bringing instant relief and I find it great for cracked heels, dry feet and elbows. It's also  brilliant when my hands suffer in the winter cold because I don't like wearing gloves as I find my hands end up being too hot after a while. I also use it when I have a cold to protect my nose and prevent flaky skin. I always have a tube of this on the go for problem areas of dry skin and recommend it for anyone who needs to treat dry skin or prevent it.
