I love Pembrokeshire as I spent so many wonderful family holidays there as a child. If you've never been to Pembrokeshire, now is the perfect time to book a holiday at Bluestone national park resort.

Location: Canaston Wood, Narberth, Pembrokeshire

Bluestone holiday resort is near Narberth in the incredibly beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, south-west Wales. Narberth is a pretty, multi coloured little market town in the east of Pembrokeshire. Narberth has put itself on the map in recent years with its great range of independent shops and boutiques plus award winning cafes, pubs and restaurants. Canaston Woods is a hotspot for outdoor activities such as cycling, walking and horseriding. The Visit Pembrokeshire website has a great list of things to do in Narberth. The Narberth Food Festival takes place in September and was featured in The Guardian in 2014. Bluestone is ideal for exploring other Pembrokeshire towns and villages such as Tenby and Saundersfoot.

Bluestone accommodation

There are almost 300 luxury lodges, cottages and studios catering for different-sized groups. A small group of 4 might want to check out a 2-bedroom cottage or one of the lodges such as Caldey lodge or Ramsey lodge. Larger parties should take a look at larger lodges such as Grassholm and Dinas which both sleep 8. If there's a bigger group, check out Dinas Bunkhouse lodge (sleeps 14) or Pembroke lodge (sleeps 12).

There is some single-storey holiday accommodation plus there are the Caldey Adapted Lodges for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Find out more about the different holiday properties available on the website.

Bluestone activities

There's plenty to entertain you and your family with over 100 activities on offer. Choose from the Blue Lagoon water park, Adventure Centre and award-winning Well Spa, to the Tournament Field, Steep Ravine and idyllic woodlands and lake. Bluestone has over 500 acres of countryside for you and your family to enjoy so let children climb trees, build dens, and and go pond-dipping. This means mums and dads get some time to enjoy themselves or just relax in the spa. Make sure you go to the fantastic Melin Tregwynt woollen mill which I visited last year. When you stroll along some of the best beaches in Britain, don't forget to do your 2 minute beach clean too so they stay that way.

Green credentials

Bluestone national park resort take their environmental impact seriously. They use natural, sustainable materials wherever possible and some of their lodges have solar-heated water.  They also have a unique biomass energy centre which provides carbon-neutral heat for the Blue Lagoon and the Adventure Centre. In 2012, Bluestone achieved Level Five of the prestigious Welsh Government-backed Green Dragon Award for its environmental work.

Book your relaxing break on the Bluestone website.
